I’m Giuseppe Attanasio. I write about ancient history, theatre, and Eastern philosophy. I’m developing a story on Nichiren Daishonin, titled The Hour of the Dog, tracing the path from Kamakura to Tatsunokuchi — and beyond.

Born in Naples in 1957, I moved through music and theatre, training with Antonio Casagrande, the Giuffrè brothers, Mariano Rigillo, Roberto De Simone, Mario Scaccia, and Glauco Mauri. Alongside the stage, I’ve pursued a steady inquiry into ancient cultures and Eastern philosophies, which now inform my writing.
I regard Nichiren as an elevated figure — morally, philosophically, and humanly — a “buddha” not as cult, but for breadth of vision. This stance guides both my narrative and essay work.

I’m a lifelong computing enthusiast. For years I worked with Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Flash, Adobe Photoshop, and languages/standards like CGI, VRML, DHTML, PHP, and Java, when the web was still a true workshop. Today I adopt a modern workflow: web standards, lightweight automations, content design, versioned drafts, and AI for research, revision, and co-editing.
Technology doesn’t replace an author’s responsibility — it amplifies it: every claim must be checked, every stylistic choice justified. AI is a great shopmate, but judgement stays human.
